Pearl Ring
Pearl - The birthstone of June
Pearl is the birthstone of the month of June. Pearl is symbol of purity, virtue and modesty. Pearls are either natural or cultured, meaning they are cultivated in special farms. Cultured pearls can either be freshwater or saltwater. Cultured pearls are sold by diameter, measured in millimeters. In general, larger cultured pearls are rarer and more costly
Pearl ring - color and shapes
Pearls come in a range of colors, shapes and sizes. Color describes both the main color (usually white, black or yellow) and the undertone (often pink, rose, or even green.) In addition, pearls can be dyed any shade to meet personal preference. Their basic shapes include round, semi-round, drop, pear, oval, button, baroque and circled. Of course, the perfect round pearls are very rare and have the most value. Although the round pearls are popularly used in rings, recent trends show the use of the button shapes. Luster is the sharpness and intensity of reflections on the pearl’s surface, and orient is the iridescent colors one sees within the pearl. The higher the luster and orient, the more valuable the pearl.
Pearl ring setting
The popular pearl ring setting is white gold, white gold and sterling silver. Pearl combined with other gemstone will result in more attractive rings. You may place a bigger pearl in the center of the ring surrounded by other smaller gemstones. You can also place a pair of pearl with different colour.
